This beach is up there with the best in Jersey, but it doesn't get as crowded, due to the trek from the cliff top to the beach.

parking: There is quite a large car park at the top of the cliff, but it is shared with a popular pub. To reach the beach, there is a long walk down a steep flight of steps.
refreshments: There is a good beach cafe, and at the top of the steps there is a pub serving lunch and evening meals.
toilets: Yes
swimming: Very safe at all states of the tide.
sunshine: South facing, so the beach catches the sun all day.
shelter: The cliffs behind the beach shelter it from all but onshore breezes.
sand: Soft and golden.
beach sports: Canoeing
bus route:

I lived and worked at portelet for 7 years , eventually working on the boats and deckchairs ( owned at the time by " denis " at that time in the 80'S . Portelet bay is my special place , it is where my heart is , it is where i want to be . I miss it every day.

between 1986 -1988 i think i had the best job in the world i with my best friend had the kayaks & deck chair cossesion on portlet bay, but was very sad to see how Jersey Tourisom have closed down so many beaches

yea nice beach and all, but soft golden sand? the whole beach is aloada pebbles really with a burnt down old hotel above it for that lovely charcoal burnt smell 24/7

I can really sense the presence of God at this peaceful spot in Jersey; it's a great place to go to clear your head and gaze at creation!

Lovely beach but in danger of being wasted as there are now no amenities here at all, unless you want to trek up the steep steps every time a toilet or a drink is required.

s hutchings
superb beach we had it all to ourselves for most of the day

i think its a gr8 beach, i live in the smaller of the 2 houses which can b viewed from the photo, it is a gr8 place for me to practice my golf on my quest to become pro.
