PLEMONT
Plemont
Plemont

Plemont is a beautiful cove on the north coast, with golden sand for sunbathers and rock pools and caves for adventurers.

PLEMONT
parking: Limited. There are a few spaces at the top of the steps leading down to the beach, but once these fill you'll have to park at the top of the cliff, which is quite a walk away.
refreshments: There is an excellent cafe at the top of the cliff.
toilets: Yes, alongside the cafe.
swimming: Safe when the sea is calm, but when there is a swell it is only suitable for competent swimmers.
sunshine: The beach catches the morning and midday sun, but loses it late afternoon.
shelter: Sheltered from all but onshore breezes.
sand: Golden sand covers the whole beach. Low tide exposes rock pools and caves.
beach sports: Surfing when conditions are good. Skimming is also very popular - use the on the left to find out more.

Far and away the best beach in Jersey, if not in Northern Europe! Idyllic. Access is not easy, but worth the effort. Never crowded, and loads to do and explore.

peter rogers
Plemont has to be no1 beach in Jersey. It's hidden away, but that adds to the appeal! Also a great cafe that serves the best american breakfast in Jersey and good value too!! Best cofee too. Lifeguard patrol in summer (cool aussies!)

lisa and aimmee and jess
this beach is right next to my house and i love walking there its not the best in jersey but i think it is peaceful and a good place to go to relax out of the way! i do school work on this beach and i have also won a certificate for some photos i have taken there in the caves. me and my friends can all walk there because we live close and we just spend most the summer down there the cafe is so expensive thoo :S

Jersey Cow xox
I love this beach, it was one of my fave beaches when i lived in Jersey . It still is although now i live in England and miss the beaches and the sea... i used to go there with my friends alot and it was a really good place for a school trip because we had to run through the waterfall that is in one of the caves! Its the best dont get rid of it!

Luke Le Gallais
It is a lovely place to go to on your holiday so please dont build houses on it. thank you.

A true gem! the views, beach, and seclusion make this a favourite for locals and visitors alike. The cafe is excellent with informal dining.. eating breakfast looking at the Sark in the distance is pricless! Good surf!

Mick, Brisbane, Aus
When the surfs nowhere to be seen in St Ouens, there's nowhere better to hang out than at Darren & Emma's cafe Plemont beach. It rocks. These guys cook an amazing beef and mustard bagel with lashings of tea to wash down the best Carrot cake I've tasted this side of Melbourne. The brekkies are great too. Awesome views to the other islands. An absolute must to visit and with fellow countrymen patrolling the beach. Excellent.

Louisa, Chester
I love this beach, the rock pools and caves are great. You just never know what you'll end up catching in the pools, there are lots of small fish and some quite large crabs. Great place for surfing and playing in the waves. Children love it, but like most beaches must be closely supervised.

Sarah S, St.Ouens
Plemont is such a pretty beach day and night! (I recommend at nighttime visit to look at the stars!!! A beautiful view!

ewan of harborough
It can be very rough at times at Plemont and good for surfing. One day a man came out of the sea and gave us a sea bass he had caught.

S A, Bham,
Spent months going to this beach, loved it, leaves st ouens and st brelades standing, good for energetics

www.jerseyskim.moonfruit.com
excellent beach for learning to skimboard on

Michelle Owens
This beach is my fav, it is ideal for my dog as he has a habit of running into the roads and cant do that here as i just sit on the steps and watch him run around, perfect for the family - lets try and keep it just for the Jersey People!!!!!

Ron Wain
Plemont is a special place for families and beach lovers. All those caves and rock pools to explore, plus plenty of lovely white sand at low tide. But, as other visitors have pointed out, this is a dangerous place at high tide. Don't leave the kids unattended when the sea races in, as they could easily be cut off. There are lifeguards in the summer, but it's best to keep a wary eye on any wanderers. Also, there are steep steps from the cafe to the beach, so be aware of that if mobility is an issue. We've visited nearly all the beaches in Jersey over the years, and Plemont always weaves its magic on us. The sunsets are breathtaking. Parking is a problem down the steep lane to the cafe (not for timid drivers) but that has been resolved as a field at the top has been opened up for overflow (August 2005). Our kids loved making a sand dam on the beach to catch the small waterfall river that spills out of the cliff by the cafe. Happy days.

Margarita
Lovely and magic place... My favourite beach in Jersey!

olivia le poidevin, st.saviour
this beach is a great beach, it is full of suprises, as it has many caves. although this beach is great, the only downfu is the steps, but i am up for pain if it means going to plemont!!!!

Chloe, St.helier

Jonathan
This is the beach that Jersey people go to.!!! - Unfortunately everyone else is learning about it. - We love rolling around in the surf just before high tide. ( there are lots of small sand banks ) Cafe' very popular too.

mamood
i love the waven there, it rules!

Alex Richardson, Jersey
i love this beach, being a farmer i am close to it so it is in close range it is great to surf and admire the view

Amber k
I think this beach is great! ! i think the surfing fab and it is not always packed!

Ben, Northampton
It's a trek to get there if you don't drive but well worth the effort. Plenty of secluded coves and caves to explore, some good waves, and the cafe's not bad either! Just watch out for the high tide as you definitely don't want to be cut off from the seps here.

Sarah
ive no idea why there is only 2 comments here, its a fantastic beach! i spend loads of time there! The caves are great and so is the surf!

Julie Herdman
I love this beach, I have the pleasure of living in Jersey and never get tired of visiting Plemont

Tom, Leeds
This is a fantastic beach - Perfect for lazing in the sun and surfing. I come to the island for 6 days every 2 years and this is where I spend all my time.

Davinia, Oxford
Probably the best place on the island! It's a bit of a trek down to the beach but well worth it. Make sure you only visit at low tide as the beach is completely covered at high tide. Great in summer evenings to watch the sun set over the sea.

Jimmy, St. Saviour:

Very good for surfing, but you can get caught out by the tide if you are a beach goer!

Tom, Twickenham:
Plemont is class, my favourite beach on the island, the pools are great for kids and the sea is beautifully clear. You have to time when you go well though as you can loose a few hours beachtime if you go when the steps are submerged.
