GREVE DE LECQ
Greve de Lecq
Greve de Lecq

This is the most popular of the north coast beaches, and with good reason, although the amount of seagulls ruin it slightly.

GREVE DE LECQ
parking: There is a large car park, but it fills up rapidly during high season.
refreshments: There are several cafes and pubs in the area, as well as beach kiosks. But watch out for the seagulls, who aren't afraid to snatch food out of your hand.
toilets: Yes
swimming: Safe at nearly all states of the tide, except when there is a heavy swell.
sunshine: The cliffs bordering the beach mean that it loses the sun in late afternoon.
shelter: Sheltered from all but northerly winds - which are rare in summer.
sand: Coarse, golden sand along the entire bay.
beach sports: None
bus route:

Greve de Lecq and Grouville were my favourite beaches, tho Greve had lots of wasps when we were there in 2004. Are they still a problem?

I Love this part of the island...especially the Moulin de Lecq.

Rob Mannel
This became our favourite beach on our recent holiday. The kids loved the sand and the rockpools and the amenities are superb and within easy reach. Also recommend Le Moulin pub for a hearty lunch and refreshing pint. Superb.

paul murron
this beach is 2 sandy

Phil Ramsay, Edinburgh
After Grouville this is our favourite. We love the cafe on the right hand side overlooking the beach. We always visit Greve De Lecq on the last day of our holiday.

Bob & Linda Smith
Yes I had some fond memories of Greve De Lecq prior to emigrating to Australia in 1957 as a very young man I dived there with the Jersey scuba club and the tourists gathered round to see what fish we caught.

I LIKE THE BEACH CUZ IT HAS CLIFFS THAT WE CAN JUMP OFF

Jacqueline, St. Helier

This has always been my favourite beach as my parents always took us there as children, but having visited there during the beautiful weather we have been having recently, we have noticed an alarming amount of seaweed and tar.

On our last visit our 6 year old grandaughter was completely covered in tar that ruined her swimwear and stained her skin for several days.

We dearly want to continue our use of this beautiful beach but alas if the present problem of too much seaweed and tar continue we shall have to go elsewhere, which we find annoying as it seems that nobody wants to solve the problem there.

Nick, Blackwater
This is a brilliant beach! The seagulls I chase away, I always sit in the really warm rockpools there but the only thing that puts me off is the high quantity of rocks, I think the two cafés are a good idea because if you want an ice-cream one side of the beach, you can go to that one and if you are the other side of the beach, you can go to that one instead of going all the way to that side of the beach and come back and your ice-cream has melted! The sand is excellent for digging in and the parking is free!

R.T, Hartford
A superb beach for the children with very clean sands. Watch the gulls! but thanks to the signs and the no feeding request they have reduced in number.

There are two very clean and well run kiosks on the front which are family owned and the owners are very polite and helpful. Look at the beautiful gardens on your left as you drive out of the bay.
