ANNE PORT
Anne Port
Anne Port

Located on the north-east of the island, this is a small and pleasant cove. It is very rarely crowded because of the lack of parking.

ANNE PORT
parking: A problem here. There are a few spaces across the road from the beach, and a few more up the hill at the northern end of the bay (towards Archirondel)
refreshments: None.
toilets: Yes
swimming: Safe at all states of the tide
sunshine: East facing, so it benefits from morning and midday sun, but loses it late afternoon
shelter: Very sheltered from westerly winds, but not so good when the wind swings round to the east
sand: Mostly hard and wet sand, with shingle nearer the sea wall
beach sports: None, but there is a slipway which is good for small craft
bus route:

I simply love this charming little slice of sandy beachness. I especially enjoy taking a stroll down here every sunday and just gazing into rockpools for 5 minutes at a time, it brings a tear to my eye. <3 Also the surrounding waters are excellent for relieving yourself in a jiffy.

Martyn Saralis

i wasn't too keen on this beach, i found it was very dirty and smelly, it has quite stunning views tho and i love the use of coastal defences there including the sea wall which was originally built in 1869

This beach was buzzin! And i wish dizzee was there xxx

kayleigh
Anne Port is a nice beach. But not many people go there compared to the number of people that go to beaches like St Brelades. I think its because of the large amount of artificial shingle on the beach as people prefer the sandy beaches. Apart from that I think it is a lovely beach. :)

Abbie Lander
i love it !!!

Aaron batho
I love the smell, of this great beach xxxxxxxx

James Connely
I believe with John it is pretty dangerous

Sarah
This beach is great. i love swimming there and when it is high tides its great, when its low tide you can walk for ages accros all the rocks. its great for beach BBQ's!

Cassie
This is my most favourite ever beach that ive ever been too, it makes me happy when i'm there, the lack of sun on my face, and the freezing water which is refreshing, i know some people may disagree with me, but here goes - I LOVE ANNEPORT!

Ashley
i know this a very nice beach but be carefull when driving to it from st catherine's way, as i was involved in the car crash when the car went off the cliff and it really wasnt a pleasant. just be carefull!

Tim Faudemer
I LOVE THIS BEACH

Clive Thornton
Anne port is a wonderful beach for people interested in coastal defences, there is rock toe armouring, the old sea wall, shingle imported from Ireland, gabions and steel pins. These extremly interesting as it shows the history of the bay and how the sea is effecting the coast.

The bay was formed by erosion, this is because the coast is made up of many different materials, the headlands are made up of hard rock and the bay soft rock.

There is a story that goes with one of the headlands, Geoffrey's Leap, I'm sure you will be able to find it out by following one of the links on this site.

Overall I believe that this beach is a perfect place to learn the history of Jersey's geography and to find out more about how the tides have effected Jersey's coast line and how it is being slowed down using many coastal defences.

Paul Horn
This beach is a beautiful little spot, particularly if you are a morning barbeque kind of person. I had two lovely breakfast barbeques there this summer and my youngest neice especially enjoyed the clear, clean and seaweed free water. She had nothing to moan about. The colour of the pebbles with the sun shining on them was exquisite I LOVE YOU ANNE PORT ;)

john poole
I do not believe swimming is safe at all states of tide, the northern side can have a strong current running through at half tide
