Gotta Let Go
by Rachel Neumann

Curious chains hold her to the wall,
Jealous eyes wait for her to fall,
Blood drips from the knife though she has it all,
Intentions to kill, yet she drops to her knees and begins to crawl,

Evil lies spread about, hurting the deepest part
slowly making her small,
Smiles unbroken, she hides it well, heart keeps on screaming
her emotions bawl,

Weakness unfound, she uses broken bricks to build up a wall,
Tears grow thicker, and water the pain inside that has grown strong and tall, Darkness surrounds, the beating stops, her emotions stall,
Nightmare never ending, she's forced to talk
about the heavy load she's been forced to haul,
Gently she stops, she's got to learn to let go of it all.
