Unspoken
Words
by Lindsay Lay
Breathing
became a foreign task as your presence enters the room,
afraid to whisper any words,
determined not to mess up the mood.
Fumbling my speech knowing I'm unstable at these times
searching for the right way feeling dumb at the same time.
Freeze a single moment, place it in a frame unspoken memories,
for a racing heart that can't contain
my stomach drops,
my legs wobble
my mind goes blank,
a single kiss could blow me away
Life around me seems such a blur not a sound to be heard,
my heart screams only silence stirs
Freeze a single moment, place it in a frame unspoken memories
for a racing heart that can't contain
life without you
could never be imagined
your eyes grasping
seeing the depths of my once doleful soul
