Around the world those who recognise great achievement within the Christian community will be hailing this time as the 300th anniversary of the birth of John Wesley.

Apparently inexhaustible, and travelling many 1000s of miles on his mission to reform the English church, his contribution to the development of Christianity has been immense.

On BBC Jersey Online we will be acknowledging that achievement by recalling the great man’s visit to the Channel Islands during August and September of 1787 – at a time when, believe it or not, John Wesley was already 84.
