One of the island’s well loved comic characters will be on display at Jersey Live later this year.

It has been confirmed by festival organisers that Hedley Le Maistre will be bringing his satirical song-writing and film making talent to the music festivals main stage this coming September.

Hedley and Jersey Live have been in talks for him to perform at the festival, but this live-shy comic creation prefers to appear in two dimensions instead of three.

And so a deal has finally been struck for a brand new, exclusive film and song to be shown at some point on the main stage over the weekend.

Organisers said in a Facebook mail that Hedley has agreed to produce a brand new video exclusive for Jersey Live festival which will be shown on the big main stage screens sometime over the festival weekend.

Festival Director Warren Le Sueur told the BBC: "We are pleased that Hedley will be part of the big Jersey Live Festival 09 weekend celebration!

"We have had many requests over the the past few years by fans to invite Hedley up to Jersey live which for this year, he has not only accepted, but promised a big surprise for all at Jersey live!"

This will be the third film production for the St Ouennais, who prefers his tractor and out-house to the bright lights of Taaan.

This years Jersey Live music festival takes place the first weekend of September will feature more than 60 acts including Basement Jaxx, The Kooks and Dizzee Rascal, spread over seven stages and 23 hours.
