Branchage Film FestivalYou are in: Jersey > Entertainment > Branchage Film Festival > Shear Talent at Branchage Shear Talent at BranchageThe Branchage Film festival and BBC Jersey Introducing are looking for musicians. ![]() The Wizard at Branchage 2008 The Branchage Jersey International film festival is back again this coming October and they’re looking for more than just moving pictures. The event’s organisers, in partnership with BBC Jersey Introducing are looking for an array of local musicians and composers to perform at the festival. Whether you play as a solo artist or in a big band, classical or electronica, young or old, there could be a role for you Branchage is a vibrant cross-arts film festival that transforms some of Jersey’s most iconic landmarks into inspirational and atmospheric screening venues. Now in its second year, Branchage specialises in stunning, one-off cinematic events with live music and performance, and a good dose of Jersey charm. Last year the festival saw Cally Noel with her collection of medieval instruments playing around the grounds of Mont Orgueil Castle. ![]() Music was a big part of the festival Electronic soundscapes from Bubblebrain at the Jersey Museum and an Eastern influenced, heavy metal guitar solo from Sean Conway - but they’re still on the look out for more of the Shear Talent Jersey has to offer. This year, there will be local musicians performing before each of the screenings in various weird and wonderful venues around the island. And they’re on the hunt for anyone who is interested in making their own soundtrack to some short films that will be screened and then performing live at Branchage 2009. Successful applicants will also have the chance to perform in the famous Branchage Spiegeltent, which is even bigger and better than last years’, at a Sheer Talent event hosted by BBC Jersey Introducing.
