This years Jersey Live music festival is set to be the most diverse yet with the confirmation of Mercury prize winning English rapper Dizzee Rascal.

Dizzee is confirmed to appear alongside Basement Jaxx, The Kooks, Jack Penate, 2manydjs, Doves, Passion Pit and many more.

He will play in the second slot on Saturday 5 September just before Basement Jaxx and after Passion Pit.

Dizzee Rascal’s music is a blend of eclectic samples, exotic styles and a blend of garage MCing, grime, ragga and conventional rap.

His debut album Boy in da Corner, won the Mercury Prize in 2003 with follow up albums both critically acclaimed.

Dizzee Rascal is one of the hottest acts of the moment with his current single Bonkers in the number one slot in the UK charts having sold nearly 115,000 copies in its first week.

Warren Le Sueur, director of Jersey Live, said: “We are ecstatic to confirm yet another massive act for Jersey Live 2009; it’s shaping up to be the best boutique festival out there!”

The festival has already started to find itself on the radar of a number of national newspapers and magazines appearing in the top festival guides for the Independent and The Times.

Warren Le Sueur said: “The Independent and The Times, they’re publishing things all the time. We’ve just got into the Times top 100 to visit of UK festivals.”

Jersey Live 2009 takes place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September at the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society (RJAH&S) showground in Trinity. Single day and weekend tickets are available and prices have been held at the same rates as in 2008.

As well as a great selection of international acts on the main stage, and a first class dance arena line-up, this years festival will see three other stages including one featuring up and coming French acts.

This year the Jersey Live Festival has partnered up with Les Inrocks, a French new music magazine, to help raise awareness of Jersey Live in France.
