Introducing Show Notes

Jersey Introducing is a new kind of show for BBC Radio Jersey, it’s a weekly look at the best of the Jersey music scene.

We’ll be interviewing bands, DJs and musicians in and from the island as well as playing their music and taking a wider look at what’s happening in the island.

But the show isn’t just the 45 minutes of radio we put out every Saturday afternoon – it’s also the Introducing section of the BBC Jersey website.

Each week we’ll be producing show notes from that weeks show with a write up of our featured band, a track listing and audio from the show.

On this week's show we had a chat with the funky Groovefusers, who emerged from their attic to join us in the studio for a chat.

We talked through their trauma of forming as a band and what the future holds for the band when they all jet off to university in the autumn.

We also found out about Rock in the Park 2008, which kicks off at midday on Sunday, 3 August in Howard Davis Park. Entry is free but a donation to this year's beneficiaries the Jersey Kidney Patients Association would be appreciated.

Organiser Paul Holt told us how Rock in the Park came to be and some of the highlights of this top local event, now in it's sixth year.

Plus there's the usual look at one of the visiting Jersey Live bands, this week Piers Queree has been educating himself on Goose.
