Find out about the venues playing host to the 2008 World Cricket League Division 5 tournament in Jersey.
Jersey has a number of excellent, well maintained cricket faciltities serving both the local and visiting cricketing community.
That is one of the reasons Jersey was chosen as the host of the 2008 World Cricket League Division 5 tournament only three years after becoming an international cricket playing nation.
In 2005 sport's governing body, the ICC, made Jersey an affiliate member.
Five venues will be used to host the tournament. Grainville, Victoria College, FB Fields, Farmers Field and two at Les Quennevais sports centre.
All the grass squares have covers and sightscreens together with changing and catering facilities and all groundstaff are fully trained and properly equipped to maintain the facilities.
One of the venues being used for the tournament is that of The Farmers Cricket Club who have recently established their own private ground with a grass pitch and pavilion.
The islands main ground at Grainville isn't a stranger to international cricket either. It played host to the Women’s ODI Tri- series there in 2002 with teams from England, India and New Zealand.
The final will be played at Grainville.
