The awardTim is still, and probably will always, be sadly missed by all at JSAD. It is a great comfort to us all that we can bring back our fondest memories of a great sportsman through this award. The winnerThomas Arnold, aged 16, has been a member of the Jersey Wheelers wheelchair basketball team for several years and now also plays wheelchair tennis. Tom has mobility difficulties with both his all four limbs which makes it even more challenging for him to control a wheelchair whilst playing sport, and has adapted his own unique way of achieving this, which is inspirational to his fellow team-mates. Tom’s stature on the basketball court has grown considerably over the last twelve months and coach Alan Ronxin reports that Tom is coming along in leaps and bounds with wheelchair tennis. Tom is exhibiting a very dry sense of humour which makes him a great personality within wheelchair sport. Tom was presented with his award at the occasion of the JSAD Annual Dinner on Saturday 17 November at the Merton Hotel by Mr Gordon Perry. last updated: 20/11/07 Have Your Say
