The Jersey water polo team travelled to Crawley over the weekend to compete in the playoffs for the South East Region title.

In the semi final they met Bexley. Jersey took immediate control of the game in the first quarter with 4 goals from captain Nat Snook who bagged another 4 before the game was done as Jersey ran out winners by 18 goals to 6. Outstanding performances by Matt Gregory, Steve Price and Tamas Toth helped Jersey into the final against Kent and Surrey champions Hythe. The final started of with Hythe taking the early ascendancy before Jersey levelled the scores at the end of the first quarter and taking the lead midway through the second. Hythe, boasting 2 GB under 21 players and a wealth of talented players clawed their way back into the lead at the end of the 2nd quarter leaving the scores at 7 - 6. They continued to control the game despite Jersey mounting a brief comeback through Kevin Steel and Daniel De Oliveira each scoring 4 goals. Hythe eventually won 19 - 14 to claim the SE Region title for 2007.

Jersey's next home game will be against Durham University on 8th and 9th June. The Jersey Team were: Rick Godson, Nat Snook (Captain), Steve Price, Richard Lain, Tom Cope, Daniel De Oliveira, Steff McGreevy, Tamas Toth, Matt Gregory and Kevin Steele. |
