Richard Collinson

Join Richard Collinson every Sunday from 9.30 for a roundup of the weeks sport from Jersey.

Richard Collinson

Sportscene on Sunday mornings at 9.30 has been a regular appointment for our BBC Radio Jersey listeners since the radio station opened in March 1982.

09:30 - 10:00

Richard Collinson began contributing to the programme from 1984, and after his return from Australia in 1990 worked in close association with Roger for 13 years on the weekly programme.

The Sportscene programme has always been the first opportunity for our "sports mad" islanders to catch up on the weekend sporting results with reports from all the major events.

Our local sports followers are now being joined at 9.30 on Sundays by listeners from around the world wanting to tap into all the results and features brought from us to you each weekend.

Maybe Fed Up should stop whinging and talk to his club about not voting yet again for Ricky and his team who according to him and most of the footballers on the island have not improved local football in any way and maybe Open Eyes should look at the bigger picture instead of a one off match and thinking up pertinent comebacks.

Open Eyes
Did Fed up miss the Jersey Blackburn Rovers match then. was that nothing. If he is a player he will realise that the club sides in the league quite often go for weeks without club games due to lack of available pitches and officials. The island side cannot, even if they wanted to, have matches whenever they wish as it would disrupt an already difficult local games programme. The island side therefore are limited to a few dates in which to play matches. Blackburn Rovers played in the first available date and the next date is in February. They have delivered on the first one so why not wait and see if they deliver on the next before sniping. Maybe you missed Blackburn because you were sitting on your computer. Maybe you are a virtual player rather than a real one.

Fed up
Ricki Wierdo goes on about games for the island but nothing comes of it - sure he and hia puppy dog MaKenzie are flying around rubbing shoulders with all these people who play lip service but what about the players of today we are not getting any games and my career will be over before any games come along - we should have won through to the next round of the systems cup but the management team is not good enough and there we have it failure all round and the only people who suffer are the players!
