Their the best thing to come out of our island musicly aswell as velofax, nothing else even comes close. The Valentines seem to be the most criticly aclaimed band in Jersey and it seems by alot of the comments on this page that people would rather see them split up then make something of them selves in the UK. The dynamics between Gaa Gaas guitar and Jegards vocal are some what unique also their recordings dont do them any justice. I disagree with people saying Jegards the only talented member of the band, their all great at what they do and its been proven on many occassions. Keep up the good work Valentines - From one of your many devotees

to be honest i thought they were rubbish at jersey live and cant believe they have been asked to play at the fort with the automatic, theres better bands in jersey who deserve that type of support.

To be fair, you could replace every single member of that band apart from Jegard and it would still sound like the valentines. I dont think there a bad band though. They are just all average musicians. As great to look at as they are, they are just a backdrop to jegards voice.

the last time i saw them at Live lounge he was all over the place. Thats good hes cleaned up his act. Agree with lauren b and jamie, the singer is in a different class to the rest of em and lots of people say the same thing.

Last time Valentines played at live lounge they were incredibly tite and Toms playing was excellent so i disagree with marilyn. It seems to me people are going out their way to dis The Valentines on here, their one of the only bands in Jersey who can pack a club so they cant be that bad

I know these guys well and they are not big headed in the slightest. They r very supportive of the jersey music scene and always allow up and coming bands to support them at their shows. Mabey Christian would do better on his own in the future but for the time being hes part of one the best bands to come out of Jersey in recent years. so support them as much as you can and dont knock them down. Plagiarism at its finest. People are lured into the visual style of the band so much that they don't actually bother to listen and notice. Off the top of my head, I can list two Valentines songs being uncanny to 'NYC Cops'-Strokes and 'Cold Night'-YYYs.

i dont think the ep sounds like us at our best, cheshire lane is great, the guitar in oh oh oh oh sounds horrible, i cant even listen to the other two, thats just the way i feel, lots of people love it, the old recording of boogie sounds class, im gonna be giving free copies of the welcome to the show ep out at our xmas gigs in jersey, its a bit rusty but i love it :)

I agree with Angus, I have seen many big bands play and I have to say they did not sound tight at all and these were professionals.

Go see them a few times, especially on their home stomping ground, The Live Lounge and make up your mind then.

This band has energy, drive and originality that most bands over here would die for. If you want them to sound like a recording then get 4 cardboard cut outs put them on stage and then play the CD - I can guarantee the whole experience would not be as exhilarating.

As for those who said the Valentines would not stand up to the challenge of Jersey Live - go eat you hats because they rocked - could easily have headlined in my opinion x

Second that, Jegard is an awesome frontman, the rest of the band just need to spend less time getting hammered and more time playing music (in time)! The rock'n'roll parties come after you get signed

You guys have an excellent stage act, also Jegard is a fine front man. Get your music sorted to back it up and you've got probably the best chance of making it out of allot of the bands here! In that I mean the timming, and organisation.
