Jersey Live Festival is back again this year and looks set to be as good if not better than the scorcher we were treated to in 2004.

And if you can't wait until September, don't worry, the festival organisers are putting on a one off exclusive party ahead of the massive musical event, to find out which local band will play with the big boys.

12 Jersey bands, voted for by the public, battle it out to qualify to play the Jersey Live festival in September.

The bands are:

  • De Nova Blues
  • The OK's
  • Elvis J. Healy
  • Moog
  • Bulletproof
  • Velofax
  • Jackson Moody Band
  • Repeater
  • Bothered Face
  • Killian
  • The Valentines
  • The Merge

If you want your favourite band to play the festival make sure you get down the Havana Club on Saturday 28th May from 7pm to 11pm.

There are only 380 tickets available, so get in there early. The tickets are on sale at SeeDee Jons in Bath Street for £5.

If you are in one of the local bands taking part get in touch, e-mail ryan.morrison@bbc.co.uk and if you don't already have one we will set up a profile for you in our 'Island Unsigned' bands directory.

Indie Sucks
Rubbish, They deffinatly didn't do it for me, Benny the Moth should have got through however. They where miles better than the Merge. Congratulations to the bands that did make it.

Mark
Yeah, what's with The Merge not getting picked?? Surely the judges were deluded!

John
I agree, The Merge were by far the best band to play on the night - its a travesty they arent going - Jersey Live will be good, but poorer without them

PAUL
Can't believe The Merge didn't get through. They were the best band on the night. Nevermind, it'll still be an awesome festival.
