Heaven in under 40 minutes. This album is consistently good from start to finish with enough awesome funky riffs and emotive synth to warrant repetitive plays, and it won't get tired. | "...covering her ass, it ain't seen nothing better, sculpted hips and a greasy belly button..." | | Line from 'Knickers of a Girl' |
Be warned though, your head might explode under the weight of the post punk rock genius pounding on your ears. The album was recorded in November 2004 at Jersey Rock Studios, St Peters. It was produced and mixed by Gary Feltham with the band. 'Velofax' features songs previously penned over the course of 2004 by Chris Wackrow and recorded at the end of the year to capture how the band sounded at that time. The album is very much now but with a mix of tomorrow thrown in for confusion and delight. My top track from the album is Treat me with Abandon with the line "This filthy love is going to end up a sin" on that will stick in my memory. Top line from the album rears its head right at the beginning of 'Knickers of a Girl', probably the second best track on the album, it goes "covering her ass, it ain't seen nothing better, sculpted hips and a greasy belly button, Calvin Klein pose yeah that's really saying something". The band are Chris Wackrow: vocals, guitar, synth; Gary Law: bass; James Bell: drums; Richard Berks: keyboards. The album will be available after 2 April 2005 from SeeDee Jons in Jersey. |
