Anna says goodbye as Coach of the Year

In the year she retires from the job, Anna Scott-Warren has been voted the 2004 JSAD Coach of Year.

Anna, from the Mont a l’Abbé Special Gymnastics Club, has been a faithful and willing servant to the club since it began in 1991.

Her input as a coach and member was a major factor in the establishment of the club, in the maintenance and development and in the increasing success.

Anna assumed responsibility for the coaching of the girls, a highlight being in Tracey Goyet’s selection to the GB team for the World Games in North Carolina in 1999 and her successful participation.

Anna has decided to retire from coaching at the end of this year and it is fitting for her services to Sport for the Disabled that she has been recognised at this time with the Coach of the Year award.

The presentation was made at the JSAD Annual Dinner and Prizegiving at the Merton Hotel by JSAD Patrons Roger Bara, Robert Le Brocq and Brian Ahier.

In a very close contest, the other nominations were Melissa Sheehan for her work with the learning difficulties elite swimmers, and Angie Nicholson for her work with the learning difficulties basketball and football teams.
