Emma Makes it a Double at Les Ormes

Emma Laine made it a double for Finland by winning the Caversham LTA Satellite Singles and Doubles titles with German partner Kathrin Woerle.

It was a Finnish double at Les Ormes Tennis Centre with Emma Laine from Finland taking the Caversham LTA $25,000 Singles Satellite tournament as well as the doubles.

She beat British number 1 Elana Baltacha after losing the 1st set 3-6, but taking the nest 2 sets 6-3, 6-1.

It was a case of Baltacha’s power against the unseeded Fin’s speed and mobility around the court.

That singles match lasted 2 hours, but Emma Laine was back on court within the hour for another 3 set match, this time lasting over 1 1/2 hours.

With German partner Kathrin Woerle for the 1st tournament , they won through to take the doubles title after losing the 1st set 1-6, but winning the next 2 sets 6-1, 6-1 against Ipek Senoglu from Turkey and Anouska Van Exel of Holland.
