Bands N-S

Suzy's Field

Suzy's Field

Suzy's Field, a place that used to exist in Cork City, Ireland was the inspiration for three young bothers to name their band after spending many a summer day there contemplating what their destiny held for them.

The band are:

  • Ali O'Keeffe
    Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard
  • Jamiel O'Keeffe
    Vocals, Guitars, Drums
  • Paul O'Keeffe
    Vocals, Guitars, Drums
  • Adam Marshall
    Vocals, Guitar
  • Matt Holcroft
    Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard

Natural raw talent is what the O'Keeffe name has fashioned and their ability to entertain has been demonstrated since the boys moved to Jersey where they have been captivating the live music scene for the past four years.

Their other brother, Jonny headed to London and assumed his mothers maiden name and has since found fame as Jonathan Rhys Meyers in such films as 'Bend It like Beckham' and 'Velvet Goldmine'.

The boys, Ali (Vocals, Guitars, Keyboard), Jamie (Vocals, Guitars, Drums) and Paul O'Keeffe (Vocals, Guitars, Drums) identified that if they were going to emulate the success of their brother Jonny, they needed to create a fuller sound and enlisted the expertise of Adam Marshall (Vocals, Guitars) and Matt Holcroft (Vocals, Guitars, Keyboard) who have given the band the final fine tuning that it needed.

Although the band realises the need to play covers in order to gain the support that any new band needs, Suzy's Field also have an extensive repertoire of their own material which can only be described as 'songwriter rock' drawing from such influences as Neil Finn and Jeff Buckley.

The bands ability to adapt their set to suit any environment, blended with their unique infectious harmonies has earnt them the privilege of being asked to accompany JJ Gilmour ('Silencers') on tour as his backing band to promte his new album 'Sunny Side Pal', whilst also having the accolade of of supporting such bands as 'The Brand New Heavies', 'Deacon Blue', 'Ian Brown', 'Supernaturals' and 'The Cosmic Rough Riders' to name but a few.

Ana
this is when living in Oregon sucks. A guy going to Griffith in Dublin (hopefully my school next year) suggested them to me. But the two stores in Portland that carry rare bands has never heard of them. Does any one know of a place I can buy their EP online?

Kris Aliss

Never underestimate these guys, but never overestimate them either... remember they are just five blokes doing what they love... Of course it probably helps that they are all extremely good looking, but just remember, only one of them is on the market at the moment... try and guess which one...?

cholitto
