The
Clipper fleet are continuing their progress to the west and at 1200
BST were 45 miles from La Corbier on the SW tip of Jersey having
had some useful help from the ebb tidal stream.

a fast passage across the mouth of the English Channel, the Clipper
fleet started race 16 to Holyhead at 0230 GMT this morning.

1430BST the 8 Clipper Yachts were making their way slowly past the
SW corner of Wales, just off Milford Haven where they stopped during
one on the training races a year ago.

regain overall lead

It
has been a busy morning at Holyhead. The south westerly wind held
out and brought the first Clippers over the line at 0400 BST for
the closest ever finish.

is the big day and shortly everyone will be turning on their radios
and televisions and asking the same questions '….where are
the boats? How are they doing? Can Bristol beat Jersey?' The only
question I can presently answer where the boats are and what the
present intentions are.
