Ballacraine

Ballacraine is another corner which is very fast on the approach. Riders have to reduce their speed down from well over 100mph to around 70mph in second gear. Riders also have to be aware of walls on both sides of the corner.

I remember once being taken to Ballacraine Corner watch a June TT race around 1950, when I would have been 8. I hated the noise and sense of danger but also remember the heightened tension in the crowd whenever Geoff Duke was due.
