Around the Isle of ManYou are in: Isle of Man > In Pictures > Around the Isle of Man > Tynwald 2009 Live on the BBC ![]() Tynwald 2009 Live on the BBCFor the first time ever, all the action from the Isle of Man’s National Day is being streamed live online here at the BBC. The Tynwald Day big screen is being streamed live from St John’s on the BBC website this year which means you can keep up to date with all the developments at Tynwald hill. For some it’s just another bank holiday but for most people on the Isle of Man, July 6 will be a chance to celebrate the Isle of Man’s ancient, independent parliamentary system. And for the first time you can watch the entire day online at the BBC. You will see the colourful ceremony from 1000 GMT as members of the Isle of Man Government along with other dignitaries proceed up the path to the hill where Tynwald will sit and the new laws for the Island are promulgated. It’s your chance to hear from some of the people you elected into Government and some of the people you haven’t, on this the most important day in the Manx calendar. last updated: 03/07/2009 at 14:10 You are in: Isle of Man > In Pictures > Around the Isle of Man > Tynwald 2009 Live on the BBC |
