i am so excited to have found you site my grandmother was born in the IOM her family were all from Maughold so far i have been able to track the family back to 1736 William Quayle at Ballellin Kirk Maughold bALLELLIN is still farmed by a Qualye family related to the earlier Quayles but not in direct line of descent... My grandmother died in 1969 and my most treasured memory of her was her lilt in her voice that was magical and truly belongs only to the Manx I am an artist and am greatly influenced by the stories that she would tell us as children about her beloved IOM THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING THAT YOU ARE DOING TO KEEP THE TRADITIONS AND MANX LANGUAGE ALIVE ALL YOUR ANCESTORS COMMEND YOU...
