Robbie takes his fifth Parish win

King of the Parish

He missed out on the number one spot in 2006 but Robbie Callister made up for it in 2007 when he stormed to success in the Parish Walk for the fifth time.

The winning time for Robbie in 2007 was 15 hours, 36 minutes and 52 seconds.

He strolled over the finish line effortlessly but Robbie later admitted finishing this gruelling race gets harder every year.

The Parish Walk started at the National Sports centre at 0800 GMT and finished for some 24 hours later on Douglas promenade.

It is an 85 mile walk around seventeen parishes of the Isle of Man (Andreas, Arbory, Ballaugh, Braddan, Bride, German, Jurby, Lezayre, Lonon, Malew, Marown, Maughold, Michael, Onchan, Patrick, Rushen and Santon).

Ray Pitts was second in 15:51:42 and Michael George third in 15:57:00 and Eammon Harkin fourth.

The Parish Walk is not for the faint hearted.

1329 people started it and only 153 people finished.

The fastest woman round was Sue Biggart, who crossed the finish line on Douglas Promenade seventh overall, in 16 hours and 49 minutes.
