Cathal Ó Donnaile

Is mise Cathal Ó Donnaile. Tá mé sé bliana déag d'aois agus is as Brocach mé i gContae Thír Eoghain. Imrím peil do na 'Brocach Emmets' agus imrím mar lántosaí. Tá an campa anseo an tseachtain seo i gcuimhne do Chormac Mac an Ailín a fuair bás ceithre bliana ó shin agus peileadóir den scoith agus d'imir sé ar an fhoireann a bhain cluiche ceannais le Tír Eoghain. Tá na páistí anseo le craic bheith acu agus le cur i gcuimhne dóibh faoi.

Is cuimhin liom nuair a bhí mé óg ghlac m'athair mé go dtí cluiche peile le hamharc ar mo dheartháir ag imirt agus bhí an-suim agam nuair a bhí mé óg agus sin nuair a thosaigh sé. Thosaigh mé peil nuair a bhí mé, b'fhéidir, a cúig nó a sé agus bhí craic ar dóigh agam agus fuair mé a lán cairde amach as.

An tseachtain seo tá páistí ón cheantar uilig ag teacht le chéile agus ag iarraidh Gaeilge a fhoghlaim agus peil Ghaelach a imirt agus ag cleachtadh scileanna agus cairdiúil le chéile chomh maith.

Tá mise ag cuidiú leis na traenálaithe agus na daoine atá ina mbun, má tá rud éigin de dhíth orthu, déanfaidh mise é agus b'fhéidir 'ag coacháil', nó ag cuidiú leis na páistí óga ag imirt chomh maith.

Beidh muid ag imirt cluiche agus beidh trí gheata ann agus beidh mise ag pasáil an bháil isteach. Maith thú, aon amach as a haon!

Nuair a bheas mé níos sine ba mhaith liom teagasc, b'fhéidir, spórt agus coinnigh ag dul, coinnigh ar aghaidh, ag imirt peile agus ag teagasc daoine óga - na scileanna atá ann sa pheil.

Cathal Donnelly

I'm Cathal Donnelly. I'm sixteen and I'm from Brockagh in County Tyrone. I play football for the Brockagh Emmets and I play full-forward. The camp here this week is in memory of Cormac McAnallen who died four year ago, a superb player and he played on the Tyrone team, which won the final. The children are here to have a bit of crack and to remember him.

I remember when I was young my father took me to a game to watch my brother playing and I was really interested when I was young and that's when it started. I began playing football when I was maybe five or six and I had great crack and I've made lots of friends from playing.

This week children from the whole area come together wanting to learn Irish and play Gaelic football and practise skills and they are all friendly with each other as well. I'm helping the trainers and the people who are in charge of them, if they require something, I'll do it and maybe some coaching or helping the young people playing as well. We'll be playing a game, there will be three gates and I'll pass the ball in. Well done, one out of one!

When I'm older I'd like to teach, maybe, sport and continue on, keep going, playing football and teaching young people - football skills.
