Dr. Stuart Brown explores the psychological and social importance of play, revealing how it shapes our brains and our emotions.
By definition, play is purposeless and all–consuming and most importantly, it is fun.
As we become adults, taking time to play feels like a guilty pleasure, a distraction from real work and life. But as Dr. Stuart Brown director of the US’s National Institute for Play illustrates, play is anything but trivial.
It is a biological drive as integral to our health as sleep or nutrition. In this programme he takes us on a journey through the laboratory and into the playground to investigate how and why, human play evolved.
