How SMS technology monitors the health of children in Kenya. If fish could text what would they tell us about life in the Bronx River? A musical collaboration between the UK and Italy in cyberspace.

SMS technology in Kenya is being put to good use monitoring the health of the most vulnerable members of society – the children. Gareth Mitchell joins health workers in western Kenya who are overseeing the roll-out of Rapid SMS system.

Conversations under the river. Scientists and artists have collaborated in New York to illuminate the life of the river previously unseen and undetected by its citizens. Laura Sheeter reports on the scheme, and asks: 'If fish and beavers could text, what would we learn about life in the Bronx River?'

Chamber orchestras in Italy and the UK have come together in a unique experiment, to perform together simultaneously without leaving their homelands. Colin Grant reports on how broadband technology has allowed the British chamber orchestra, Camerata to perform in time with the Ex Novo ensemble in Venice, more than a thousand miles away. And Andrea Molino talks to Digital Planet about how and why the project worked.
