Since the downfall of the Suharto dictatorship in 1998, the sprawling archipelago that is Indonesia has been transformed into a democracy, complete with all the usual issues which often determine elections - namely, the economy, the economy, and, thirdly, the economy.

The finance minsiter tells Business Daily how the country intends to steer a course through the economic downturn.
