Toby gets the new pond underway, cladding it with a vertical alpine garden. He also starts the urban meadow, and sows a fantastic range of colourful hardy annuals that will prove irresistible to bees and butterflies.

Carol Klein reveals her final three lucky proteges for her gardening school, which she will be running every week from Glebe Cottage, her home in Devon. Her green-fingered apprentices will begin their course by learning the art of division.

Joe Swift continues the work on the 'Dig In' gourmet garden, and also reveals his designs to turn a family's large and overgrown suburban garden into a functional and funky outdoor space.

And back at Greenacre, thrifty gardener Alys Fowler demonstrates how to make money with dahlia cuttings.
