US Elections - 2008 - Part 1

As Americans cast their votes for a new President, David Dimbleby presents US Election Night live from Washington, with Matt Frei in the studio and reporters in crucial swing states around the country. Jeremy Vine will be in a virtual reality studio analysing the figures, and using the latest touchscreen graphics to show who is winning the race to the White House.

The reporting team includes Gavin Hewitt in Chicago with the Obama campaign, Katty Kay in Phoenix with the McCain campaign, and John Simpson reporting reaction from the black community, with Philippa Thomas, Richard Lister and Rajesh Mirchandani among others reporting from crucial swing states.

Live from Times Square in New York, Laura Kuenssberg will be working with the BBC Online operation, reporting the news as it breaks in the blogosphere. She will also be dropping into the BBC's Election Night party to gauge reaction from a diverse panel of New York society. (R)
