Clare Balding presents coverage of the first day of athletics in the Bird's Nest stadium. Britain's Shelly Woods competes in the day's main event, the women's T54 5000m final, and there's action from the T54 5000m and T44 100m heats. Coverage continues from the Laoshan Velodrome where Sarah Storey and Anthony Kappes go for gold in the cycling. At the Water Cube Dave Roberts goes for his first gold in the 100 freestyle swim.
