During the foot-and-mouth epidemic, members of the Bristol Exploration Club were limited to drinking pints of ale in their friendly local, the Hunter’s Lodge Inn.

Many people would think being excused from burrowing in cold, muddy passages was a good thing. But the cavers were lost without their regular underground excursions.
