Like many smaller football clubs, Weymouth FC has been facing difficult times in the current financial climate. Some players have been earning £800 per week and this has helped bring the club close to collapse. ![]() Weymouth FC - tough times. It is currently facing the most difficult time in its 119 year history with debts of nearly £1/2m. Nobody has been paid in 2009 not even the club's Chief Executive who normally earns £60,000 per year. Weymouth FC could be facing liquidation - not helped by constant in-fighting within the club. But the club thought their severe financial problems had been solved when a businessman offered to invest £300,000.
