Skin before makeup

Elana suffers from vitiligo

Camouflage Makeup

Its free and it makes a huge difference to countless people’s lives, yet most people have never heard of the makeup service run by the Red Cross.

It started 30 years ago as a way of helping soldiers injured on the battle field – but is now offered to people who have been scarred or have skin conditions.

We meet Ruth from Norfolk who was offered the service after she suffered scarring to the feet following an operation.

We also follow Margot from Norfolk as she tries the treatment for the first time.

Margot suffers from vitiligo - a skin condition which causes the skin to lose its pigment in patches.

One in 100 people suffer from the condition.
