Ray recommends the frugal life

Frugal living

As markets crash, banks falter and consumers face a never ending rise in the price of fuel and groceries, writer and broadcaster Ray Gosling, examines just what it means to live frugally.

Ray says he’s always lived frugally and heartily recommends it.

He set out to find like-minded souls around the East Midlands.

The Michelin Starred Chef in Nottingham, Sat Bains, is an unlikely supporter of Ray’s campaign for frugality.

A challenge for Michelin Starred Chef Sat Bains

Sat says, "All kitchens should operate on good simple straightforward ingredients and avoid waste."

Ray finishes his quest for frugality by challenging Sat Bains to turn his humble collection of food bought at Leicester market into a gourmet meal.

His conclusion?

"Not much separates living well and living frugally… and the beauty is nothing is wasted."
