Coming up...

Inside Out East brings you stories from around the region. Presenter David Whiteley introduces everything from major investigative reports through to stories about heritage and current affairs.

Inside Out, BBC One, 7.30pm on Wednesday 04 March

Job scheme

David Whiteley investigates the man taking advantage of desperate job seekers.

Advertisements for well paid positions are appearing across the East in newspapers, on websites and even on Job Centre Plus, offering £8.50 an hour for data inputting.

Claims are made that new offices are opening in Peterborough, Bury St Edmunds, Felixstowe, Northampton, Norwich and Luton to name but a few.

But the offices don’t exist. And the jobs aren’t real.

Instead job hopefuls can end up parting with fees and landing a hefty phone bill, with nothing to show for it.

We track down the man behind it all – and investigate how jobs that don’t exist can appear on a Government backed website.

Osmania

Teresa from Northamptonshire is obsessed.

She shares her passion with Jackie from Bletchley, Linda from Norwich, Karen from Essex and Kim from Bedford.

Jimmy Osmond

Jimmy Osmond

They spend their lives following their heroes the Osmonds, which involves trips all over the UK and often jetting off to the States.

They use many of their activities to raise money for MS.

We follow them as they travel around hoping to catch a glimpse of Jimmy as he appears in panto… and join them, and hundreds of others, for the annual Osmania event.

Animal Tattoos

Jane from Whittlesey is passionate about animals.

She cares for a menagerie of rescued creatures at her home - from racoons to snakes - and has volunteered at small rescue centres for most of her life.

Two years ago she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The thing that worries her most is what happens to her animals when she dies.

She has come up with a very unusual solution.
