The Mailbox, Birmingham

Set in the heart of the city centre is BBC Birmingham's brand new home at The Mailbox. It's part of a development which houses hotels, shops, restaurants and bars in a canal-side setting, with a public walkway running through the middle.

Many award-winning TV and radio productions come from here – including the ever-popular Gardeners' World, Countryfile and Desi DNA; regional news and current affairs programmes such as Midlands Today and Inside Out; and of course the world's longest running radio soap, The Archers.

The Mailbox has already attracted thousands of visitors since it opened its doors in June 2003. There's lots to do – you can have a go at reading the weather, look into the gallery that puts Midlands Today on air, try putting your own news bulletin together, or watch your favourite local radio presenters at work through a special viewing glass straight into the BBC WM and Asian Network studios.
