Godber
joined the company in 1984, bringing with him his unique brand of
accessible comedy/drama which catapulted Hull Truck Theatre into
the theatre spotlight.
Up
N Under was his first smash hit with the company and now makes a
welcome return to the Spring Street stage.
This
new production boasts a six strong cast including James Crossley
(Gladiators), Kate Baines (Hollyoaks), Iain Rogerson (Coronation
Street), Martin Barrass (Emmerdale) and Rob Angell (John Godber's
BBC screenplay Thunder Road).
The
Cobbler's Arms - an unstoppable force in amateur rugby league! These
guys mean business; with terrifying tactics and frightening physiques
they're indestructible and they know it!
Or
are they? Arthur Hoyle doesn't think so and he'll stake his house
on that!
An
impulsive bet with local Mr Big, Reg Welsh, says that Arthur can
train any team to crucify the Cobblers.
So,
armed with burning ambition, he sets about kicking his beer swilling
motley crew into shape. Can they make the impossible possible? Can
they conquer the Cobblers?
Up
N Under is showing at the Hull Truck Theatre from Thursday 8th until
Saturday 31st July 2004. For further information contact the box
office, telephone: 01482 323638.
