Every Picture Tells a StoryYou are in: Humber > BBC Radio Humberside > Steve Redgrave's Late Show > Every Picture Tells a Story > The ReplicaGooseEgg The ReplicaGooseEggAdam Jackson, James Wright, David Marshall, Matt Barratt and Paul Minns make up the comedy gathering known as The ReplicaGoose Egg. All but Paul joined Steve Redgrave to talk about their film making and performing. ![]() The ReplicaGooseEgg was a name Adam came up with for he and his pals to use for videos to put on YouTube after lampooning one of their number purely for fun. After a year of being together, they are now comedy writers, performers and video makers. One of their films has already won them £5000 on 'Clipstar', an amateur video talent site voted for by users of the site. The group now have their sights on winning a £500,000 prize and have produced a series of films in their own unique comedy style. Some of the films feature 'Masked Dan'. He's the creation of Adam who in addition to appearing in a series of adventures now has a stage act which he's taking around the area. Adam says appearing in front of an audience to perform is quite daunting but the character of Masked Dan means he's able to give full vent to his comic creativity. Other members of the group are happy to perform on camera and or take a role behind it, but haven't quite made it to the stage yet. They say as they develop their style through their writing they're looking to explore all avenues to promote their work. Their website features an online shop, news of their forthcoming performances and the beginnings of a podcast series. Most of their films aren't scripted and although mostly improvised the ideas behind them are a collaborative effort. Although some members of the group take a bigger lead in some aspects of their work. For example, Matt looks after their web output. The web is very much at the heart of their promotion. mySpace, Facebook, YouTube and Clipstar has been instrumental in keeping the impetus going. They say the film making process can be quite time consuming and has to be fitted in around work. They often work on their projects in the evening and at weekends but enjoy working together immensely. last updated: 11/04/2008 at 15:14 You are in: Humber > BBC Radio Humberside > Steve Redgrave's Late Show > Every Picture Tells a Story > The ReplicaGooseEgg |
