A local charity has won royal recognition for its community transport scheme.
Goole Gofar provides transport for voluntary and community groups as well as individuals. They use vehicles that are fully adapted for disabled access.
This month the project picked-up an Community Initiative Award from the Duke of York.
The group meet the Duke of York
Four members of the group met the Duke at the award ceremony in Conisbrough.
Christine Dales, Gofar’s Development Officer, hopes the award will raise the group’s profile “To have the quality of our work and its community benefits recognised by this prestigious award is a real boost.”
