The Collective is supported by organisations like the Hull Women’s Centre, the University of Lincoln, and WAM (Women Arts and new Media). Adele Clough, a member of the Collective and Project Coordinator of the WAM Project said: "The Women's Photography Collective is based at the Hull Women's Centre with a number of partners in the city. It's for all women throughout the city, of all ages, who have interest in photography.

"In Octber 2005 the Collective was involved in a high profile campaign linked to United Nations Day in which women from across the city were invited to take photographs on the subject which attracted a good response.

In order to expand the group’s activities the members are appealing for old and disused cameras. Glynis Neslen, Photography Learning Adviser said: "The purpose for this is to provide free equipment for women.

There are a lot of people who have cameras at home that they don't use. We're looking for any sort of camera: analogue, SLR, manual, the older the better in a sense, but also digital cameras."

If you would like to donate a donate your old camera please take it to the Hull Women’s Centre, which is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10am to 3pm.
