The Swanland Story

In July 2004 Blair Jacobs travelled to a slum on the outskirts of Nairobi in Kenya.

He went to visit a school which was being largely supported by the East Yorkshire community of Swanland.

The school, Swanland High School, was set up in 2001 by Pastor Hudson Kuyanda who claims he had a vision of him teaching less fortunate children from the slums.

This Summer, Blair returned to the school to find the old building had been torn down by an irate landlord and an armed mob with a grudge. What he found in it's place was a new, larger school, on a new site. This is Blair's story of the rebuilding of Swanland School in Nairobi
