After a postgraduate course in journalism at Cardiff University, I started work at Central News in Birmingham. When the BBC set up a television service for the Channel islands I moved back home to present the evening bulletins and spent the next few years working as a reporter, presenter and producer in Jersey and Guernsey.

But, eventually the prospect of reporting for Look North in Grimsby proved irresistible. A year later I moved to Hull and became intimately acquainted with sunrise over the Humber.

I've spent hours on boats filming on rough seas, lugged a camera along an army trek in the Cyprus sun,  been attacked by a herd of Guernsey cows so thought working alongside Peter Levy would be a piece of cake. How wrong can a girl be?!
