Stingrays 2-6 Nottingham

By Gwilym Lloyd
The Stingrays went down to their elite league opposition after a first period which ended 2-0 to Nottingham and after that, they were always playing catch-up.

Dave Pyatt grabbed his first goal for Rick Strachan's side after 31 minutes and Slava Koulikov reduced the deficit to 4-2 early in the final period.

But the Panthers were too strong, too quick and too smart on the night for the Stingrays. Kim Ahloos grabbed two late goals for them, and maybe the final scoreline was a touch harsh. However, there's no doubt there was only going to be one winner on the night.
