The BBC Connecting Locally in Hull, East Yorkshire & Lincolnshire

The BBC has invested £25 million developing a whole new range of services for TV viewers, radio listeners and web users in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

The BBC’s 'Connecting Locally' initiative – also known as Project Hull – was unveiled by BBC ex-Director General, Greg Dyke, in October 2001.

Since then teams across the region have worked to deliver a range of exciting new services and initiatives for the people of Hull, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

The package delivered a brand new TV region called BBC Yorkshire and Lincolnshire which is dedicated solely to the area stretching from Bridlington in the North to Kings Lynn in the South.

All this latest BBC investment comes on top of the award winning "world first" set of TV experiments in Hull, using Kingston Communications broadband technology.

BBC Hull Interactive TV a valuable, two-way method of bringing people in Hull local information, learning facilities for all the family - not just school pupils - and also entertainment.
