Murden
Presenter,
reporter, secretary and mobile studio driver, I've been all of them.
I'm nothing, if not adaptable. Since my favourite place to be is
out on the road, being part of the BBC Bus Team suits me down to
the ground. I look upon each day on the bus as a challenge, meeting
new people and helping them get to grips with the technology.

My main interest is theatre. I was accepted to the Italia Conti
Drama School in 1991. Since then, I have worked in TV and theatre.
I have also been involved in the local drama scene for the last
few years in Hornsea in East Yorkshire and also with the Northern
Theatre Company based in Hull. I also write and supply panto scripts
to theatre companies.

I have
run my own card and gift shop in Hornsea as well as having stints
as a pub manager. I've been wholesale florist sales rep and even
a bingo caller.
My
couple of years with the BBC has brought me a wide experience of
radio opportunities, from reporter to chief panto writer.
I've
appeared on a number of tv game shows - so far, 'Blankety Blank'
with Lily Savage and 'Supermarket Market Sweep'. The staff here
are always asking me about the price of fish.

I first worked
for community radio for a couple of years then applied to work at
BBC Radio Humberside. I started work here in February 2001 and became
part of the Breakfast programme team, answering 'phones , compiling
weather and tides information and looking after programme guests.

In
October 2002 I started with the BBC bus. In August 2003 I trained
to drive the bus too. I really enjoy working on the bus as I like
to be out and about in the countryside meeting new people and visiting
new places. .

I’ve
been at BBC Radio Humberside for more years than I care to remember.
Since Bucks Fizz and Shakin’ Stevens were in their heyday and that's
a couple of decades in anyone's reckoning.

As
a researcher for the bus I like to think of myself as in the engine
room stoking the production room boiler. I hope I'm helping to smooth
the administrative process.

Spark - Broadcast Journalist (Communities)
Ive
been a Broadcast Journalist with BBC Radio Humberside since April
2003. Before then, I worked at BBC Radio Sheffield with the news
team and on Sheffields BBC Bus.
I'm
a big fan of popular music and In my spare time I listen to it as
much as I can. I find it helps put me in a productive mood while
doing jobs around the house. Other than that I love travelling.

I went
to Singapore for my honeymoon and that's when the travel bug bit
. Our honeymoon plans were really last minute and when it was time
to go, all we had was a plane ticket and nothing booked for when
we got there.
A
very dear friend gave us instructions on what to do and where to
go - right down to what hotel to book for our first night - and
that's exactly what we did. We ventured on his route which took
us to Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Fantastic.
I think
that's why I like working on the bus. Everyday is a different journey,
a new face and a new experience. You learn so much through other's
experiences.
