Julian Perryman

Julian Perryman

Julian started his career at 16, building houses with his father. He's a skilled and versatile builder, but is often kept busy on DIY SOS with less structural jobs like plastering. He has a broad knowledge of both modern and traditional properties, and has a good sense of humour that never fails to brighten the most adverse of DIY situations.

Melissa Porter

Melissa Porter

Melissa learnt about the property world through watching her parents' constant renovating projects. She began her TV career in 2002, after working as a professional relocator for a property website.

Her TV career has led her to present a number of shows including To Buy or Not to Buy, Escape to the Country, and Countryfile: The Summer Diaries. She also writes for a number of newspapers and websites. She puts her knowledge to good business use as the co-founder of property company Porter & Smurfit, which provides a complete design and renovation service

When she isn't working, Melissa has a keen interest in DIY and renovation and can often be found skiing down mountains.

Jenny Powell

Jenny Powell

Jenny grew up in Essex, and attended the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts after leaving school. Here, her enthusiasm and talent for performing was honed, and she started her TV career in 1986 when she was chosen to present the BBC Two music programme No Limits. She went on to present the National Lottery Live and Top of the Pops, and joined the To Buy or Not to Buy team in 2006.

Martin Roberts

Martin Roberts

Martin Roberts is one of the UK's foremost property and travel experts. His TV career goes back almost 20 years, and includes eight years as presenter on ITV's Wish You Were Here...? as well as many other programmes for the BBC and national radio.

Martin has been a property developer since 1990, and now runs a specialist investment property company. He is a prolific journalist and writer, travel editor of Woman magazine, former chairman of the British Guild of Travel Writers and expert contributor to a wide cross section of travel and property publications.

He now co-presents the BBC One property auction series, Homes under the Hammer.
