|
Give a bedroom a spicy feel with an Arabian Nights theme. Use candles, gold, mirror tiles and even a mural to turn your bedroom into a glamorous haven.

The walls
Paint the walls deep pink and the ceiling midnight blue. Sand the floor and paint it in a sand colour before sealing with a clear acrylic varnish. |

|
Wardrobes
Paint the sides and edges of a wardrobe purple. In the central panels paint a mural. Paint a background of sand and sky with emulsion and the trees and stars with acrylic paint. For an extra touch fill the stars in with liquid gold leaf. |

|
|
Furniture
Give the furniture a unified feel. Paint blue, then cut out crosses from brass sheeting and attach to the units. Glue the tops of tacks onto the crosses. Finish off the look with plastic jewels glistening between the crosses. |

|
|
Mirrors
Remove old tiles from around the sink and replace with small mirror tiles. Position a mirror in the centre. To give it an exotic feel, cut out a dome shape from MDF, paint it purple with a light spray of gold on top and screw to the wall above the mirror. |

|
|
Bedcovers and curtains
Sew strips of four different coloured satins together. Hem the bedcover and then spread over the bed. For the curtain sew straight across the curtain about 5cm down from the top and make a loop to thread the curtain pole through. |

|
|
Finishing touches
Use plenty of rich looking cushions and candles and gold ornaments to finish off the Arabian nights scheme. |
